Gapeteria: Look of the Day

Terra has such a sunny air about her even on a brisk winter day. It’s partly her smile, partly her playful picks: leopard print jeans, swingy dangly earrings, mint green bike. Then she offsets these with subtler pieces—a simple blouse, neutral sweater and boots—for a perfect balance.

H&M sweater. Trove blouse. Paige denim. Cri de Coeur boots. Rebecca Minkoff bag. Anthropologie earrings. Warby Parker sunglasses. Unknown necklace. Vintage ring. Gary Fisher bicycle.

Ashley has a girlish look (refreshingly happy and comfortable) that drew us in. We loved her bare legs on that freezing day. A bold move in the name of fashion, because tights would have dressed it up too much and the Converse were critical.

Gap cardigan. Urban Outfitters T. Gap skirt. Gap socks. Converse low-tops. Unknown necklace. Elizabeth & James ring. Text by Dante; her brother wears the first half of the sentence.

Schuyler is awesome at pulling off outfits that wouldn’t work without her stature. Whether it’s a short poplin shirtdress or a sweeping silk gown with a sweater thrown over, things just drape beautifully off her lovely lithe frame.

Rugby Ralph Lauren sweater. Ali Golden dress. Boutique 9 boots. Karen Walker sunglasses. Invicta watch. Alkemie bracelet. Her grandmother’s necklace.

Just Curious: Have You Ever Shopped the Kids’ Department…For Yourself?

Always our gal when we’re craving a sartorial pick-me-up, we recently spotted blogger and style queen extraordinaire Geri Hirsch of Because I’m Addicted sporting, like a true trailblazer, a denim vest not from our women’s department—but from the kids’! That got us thinking…what other gems await us in boys’ size XL (like this adorable jacket)?

We spotted Martha from afar and tracked her down—but of course her jeans made it easy. Love the mix of pure white and palest peach with cherry red. Plus, the little black and white checks lining her jacket sleeves.

Asos jacket. H&M blouse. Zara jeans. Michael Antonio wedges.

On Our Radar: Makeup Palettes

Have you noticed? Pretty powdery shades straight out of your favorite compact are everywhere this season. Blouses to Bermudas steeped in blushing pinks, dusky lavenders, silvery grays, icy blues, tawny bronzes, pearly ivories, and bright hits of coral (a lovely, lipstick-worthy hue). We get a kick out of the way these colors take us back. They’re like our first girlhood passion—PASTELS!!—but all grown up and utterly chic now. Have to admit, we don’t always love the sheer factor; but what else are cute camis and layering tubes for?
