Inside Peek: Kids + Baby Spring Photo Shoot

We love getting scooped on the latest shoots from our photo team. OK, that’s an understatement….we really love it. From the moment they start packing up the shoes, clothes, and props, we’re already anticipating their return. Visions of mini models posing, fans blowing, and cameras flashing dance in our heads—we want all the deets. This time around, the kids/baby shoot was all about bright color (those shoes!) and so-cool handmade papier-mâché props (hand over that giant fortune teller, please). Check out a few behind-the-scenes snaps. We dare you not to be as excited as we are!

Inside Peek: Spring Photo Shoot

COLOR was certainly the theme of our spring photo shoot! In typical Gap fashion, it played out like a Broadway show with its cast of highly skilled artisans—photographers, models, seamstresses, stylists and the list goes on. Walking around the buoyant set filled with rows of shiny accessories, racks of handpicked garments, and very attractive people (what? You don’t want us to lie, right?), makes it hard not to consider a career change! Of course they make it look so easy but we’re fairly certain orchestrating this caliber of a shoot takes a TON of work, patience, and finesse (think hair, makeup, years of experience, natural talent…need we go on?). We know we are excited for spring (weather and wardrobes, of course)—how about you?

Looking Ahead: Gap Spring 2012

Ah, spring! We are still looking forward to winter and dressing for all the requisite holidays and festivities, but the force that is Fashion Week has truly put us in the mood for spring (even from under our snoods here in SF). At Gap’s Spring 2012 presentation in NYC the message was clear: COLOR is It. So if fashion dictates our collective mood, early next year it’s all cheers, optimism, and happiness. And what are we happy about right now? Slouchy striped knits, candy-colored khakis, patchwork denim, printed bandanas, and yay, espadrilles. Take a look and let us know what’s on your must-get list.

Sneak Peek: Holiday ’11 Moodboards

Visions of holiday have been dancing in our heads for a few weeks now. Most fun is distilling our daydreams into moodboards that capture the spirit of the season. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’d love gap.com to look like and the themes threading through the upcoming collections.

For women, it’s about divine knits and miles of oversized, cozy layers. Also, quirky bird prints, luscious fur trimmings, and a dazzling party dress to compliment the soft glow of twinkle lights.

For men, it’s all about true authenticity: guys wearing the clothes—not the other way around. Modern military, bits of shearling, and anything in vivid tartan plaid.

For kids, it’s about rock n’ roll mixed with lots of mischievousness. Punchy prints, zippy colors, and a brimming anticipation for the fast-approaching holidays.

For baby, it’s about soft, dreamy hues and lush forests full of whimsy. Playfulness and a sweet sense of wonder prevail.

Inside Peek: Men’s + Women’s Fall Photo Shoot

On Monday, we showed you what happened at our kids’ and baby fall photo shoot. Now, let’s talk men’s and women’s. The fashion shoot. Bright lights, music pumping, and all those shoes! Our fave captured behind-the-scene moments? The weird ostrich hiding in the studio, a ping-pong showdown (who won?) and an airplane celebrity sighting (hello, Doris Roberts!)

We LOVE photo shoots—the models, the locations, the swag (check out  the cute drawing one of our models, Rachel, did for the photo team), the yummy lunches, and the impromptu dance moves (you HAVE to watch…Justin Beiber’s never sounded so good!). So, when our Fall shoot  arrived, we asked our photo staffer, Rebecca to give us the inside scoop. Our favorites? The arts and crafts—DIY graffiti shoes and jewelry. Oh, and did we mention the dancing. We love the dancing!
